Technical Sales Engineer

RPM Innovations, Inc., a leading industrial service company in the field of Directed Energy Deposition (DED) additive manufacturing, is accepting applications for the position of Technical Sales Engineer at its facility located in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Applicants should have at minimum a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Candidates should have good professional communication skills - both written and verbal. Other valuable skills include excellent computer knowledge, organizational, and solid decision-making.  Must be proactive and a team player.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Confer with customers to assess technical designs to qualify applications for additive manufacturing.
  • Review specifications and schedules to meet customer needs.
  • Generate inquiry documentation and subsequent job quotations.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and competitive pricing on all requests, while striving to maintain superior quality and maximum profit margin.
  • Secure purchase orders/contracts and write up internal job sheets as required.
  • Work directly with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality to meet all customer requirements.
  • Provide pre-order and post-delivery customer support. 
  • Provide program status updates to customers as needed.
  • Prepare technical sales and marketing presentations, as well as any special sales projects and new marketing opportunities.
  • Participate in industry shows and conferences.
  • Support internal cross-functional development by contributing to the ongoing maturation of the company’s processes and procedures.
  • Confer with vendors to provide timely services and acquisition of materials.
  • Develop the required knowledge to support and contribute to the improvement and maintenance of the Quality Management System and any associated responsibilities, as directed.
  • Develop proficiency in the use of CAD systems (Autodesk – Inventor, NX, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Manufacturing Engineer

RPM Innovations, Inc., a leading industrial service company in the field of Directed Energy Deposition (DED) additive manufacturing, is accepting applications for the position of Manufacturing Engineer at its facility located in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Applicants should have at minimum a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Candidates should have good professional communication skills - both written and verbal. Other valuable skills include excellent computer knowledge, organizational, and solid decision-making.  Must be proactive and a team player.
Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Understand and apply all laser safety requirements for safe operation of the laser system, and all associated support functions of this process
  • Develop knowledge in the fundamentals of laser technology
  • Support and contribute to the ongoing design and development of laser system hardware, software, and fixturing requirements as may be required and directed
  • Develop knowledge in the area of software manipulation to program/assign tool paths for successful laser deposition applications as may be required and directed
  • Develop written operating procedures that outline, define, and represent successful utilization of the laser system
  • Perform pre-, in-process, and post-inspections of customer parts/components using portable CMM and laser scanner, as well as other traditional measuring devices and techniques.  Maintain associated documentation
  • Support the facilitation and maintenance of all required company documentation and record keeping as directed
  • Perform Quality Assurance functions to support both the engineering and production functional areas
  • Support internal cross-functional development by contributing to the ongoing maturation of the company’s processes and procedures
  • Support any special engineering projects as may be required
  • Develop the required knowledge to support and contribute to the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System and any associated responsibilities, as directed 
  • Support the engineering responsibilities within a cross-functional management framework by effectively working and communicating with management and team members from all functional areas

Laser Process Technician

RPM Innovations, Inc., a leading industrial service company in the field of Directed Energy Deposition (DED) additive manufacturing, is accepting applications for the position of Laser Process Technician at its facility located in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Positions are available for all five shifts:
  • 1st Shift (7:00 am to 3:00 pm)
  • 2nd Shift (3:00 pm to 11:00 pm)
  • 3rd Shift (11:00 pm to 7:00 am)
  • Weekend Days (7:00 am to 7:00 pm F, Sa, Su or Sa, Su, M)
  • Weekend Nights (7:00 pm to 7:00 am F, Sa, Su or Sa, Su, M)

Applicants should have at minimum a high school diploma or equivalent. On the job training will be provided to acceptable candidates.  Other valuable skills include organization and solid decision-making.  Must be proactive and a team player.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop knowledge in the overall operation of the laser system to be able to safely and independently operate this system, as may be required and directed
  • Understand and apply all laser safety requirements for safe operation of the laser system and all associated support functions of this process
  • Safely handle parts and materials with appropriate industrial trucks, hoists, overhead cranes, and associated rigging
  • Apply knowledge in the fundamentals of laser technology, to effectively support the ongoing implementation of this technology as it relates to RPMI
  • Support and contribute to the ongoing design and development of laser system hardware, software, and fixturing requirements as may be required and directed
  • Assist in the development of written operating procedures that outline, define and represent successful utilization of the laser system
  • Assist in the development of written maintenance procedures that will allow for the consistent and successful utilization of the laser system
  • Perform pre-, in-process, and post-inspections of customer parts/components, and maintain associated documentation
  • Develop the required knowledge to support and contribute to the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System and any associated responsibilities, as directed 
  • Support the facilitation and maintenance of all required company documentation and record keeping, as directed
  • Prepare and mount metallurgical samples, as may be required and directed
  • Must exhibit the ability to communicate well
  • Shift work will be required
